"Don’t sweat where you are right now; it’s your blessed entry point. Step toward your Greatness and the way will open wide." -- Susan L. Taylor
ACTING/VOICE
Perhaps you are getting ready for grad school auditions or need help preparing for a role? Do you need to learn an accent or dialect? I’d love to help you! I am an award-winning, MFA graduate of the American Repertory Theatre Institute at Harvard University/Moscow Art Theatre School, a member of the Actors Equity Association (AEA), and of the Voice and Speech Trainers Association (VASTA). My teaching is based primarily on the work of Catherine Fitzmaurice.
Don’t leave that audition knowing you could have done better!
PUBLIC SPEAKING SKILLS AND ACCENT REDUCTION
Would you like to overcome your fear of public speaking or take your speaking skills to a new level? Learn professional tips on how your posture, voice, gestures and listening skills can create an easy rapport with your clients and help you gain credibility.
I support and encourage you in ways specifically tailored to your needs. In addition to helping you discover and maximize the strengths you already possess, our plan might include physical, verbal and vocal exercises, Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP), visualization and relaxation techniques so you can achieve confidence, clarity and calmness.
I am also experienced in teaching accent reduction techniques.
Overview: Learning to speak standard American English is primarily about finding a new Mouth Posture. Mouth Posture is how you use your articulators (lips, soft palate, tongue, etc.) to “shape” your sound. Each accent has a unique Mouth Posture. (For example, in order to speak French correctly, English speakers must learn to bring the lips forward, or for Russian, they must get used to bringing the tongue up and forward). When you find your Mouth Posture for American English, you can think less about specific sound shifts, and more about what you truly wish to say!

VOICE-OVER WORKSHOPS
"I want to thank you and share this with you: I had a v-o audition about a week and a half ago at or so Clatter and Din and I just walked in, did it, no script no anything …they handed me the script right then and there and we had like 20 mintues I was like, What did Gin teach me, ok “operative words”, ok “personalize,” ok “good thing bad thing” and that’s all I did, I just remembered everything that you told me, and I just got called by [my agent] that they want me to do it! It’s a really nice, multi-day project… $700 per day. What you taught us, works… I just want to celebrate!" -- Erwin Galan
"And thanks again, Gin for guidance and extending the time, and for really great direction - I think we're all going to be a little spoiled now when we go to work with other people." -- Chris K

"Thank you so much for such a wonderful class! We had a blast. Time flew by!!! You gave us a great overview in the time we had allotted. It was comprehensive, specific, and fun. We're all into more classes." -- Annette L
